Maintenance & Cool Club
How often should I service my AC in Central Texas?
Twice a year. Schedule a spring checkup for your air conditioner and a fall checkup for your heating, because Central Texas systems work hard for most of the year. Cool Club members get both visits: fall (September–November) and spring (February–April).
How often should I change my air filter?
Check it and change it monthly. Changing your filter is the most important maintenance you can do yourself. A clean filter helps your system run efficiently and keeps dust from building up inside the equipment.
What is Cool Club?
Cool Club is our tiered maintenance membership. Every plan includes two visits a year, a 21-point checkup and cleaning, and 10% off parts (labor not included). Call today and ask about our Cool Club membership tiers.
How much does Cool Club cost?

Repair or replace
What are signs my AC needs repair?
Common signs are unusual noises, uneven temperatures from room to room, a sudden jump in your energy bill, a system that runs but can’t keep your home cool, and equipment that won’t turn on or respond to the thermostat.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
It depends on your system’s age, its repair history, the refrigerant it uses and how well it keeps your home comfortable. Our technicians give honest guidance, and our repair or replace questionnaire is a good place to start.
What is the difference between aux heat and emergency heat?
Aux heat is backup heat your thermostat turns on automatically when the heat pump needs help. Emergency heat is a setting you choose yourself, and it runs on backup heat only. Read our heat pump emergency heat vs. aux heat guide for more.

What are your office hours?
All three offices are open Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM: Killeen (254) 526-5410, Temple (254) 598-2074 and Georgetown (512) 503-5407. You can also request service online at any time.
Do you offer after-hours service?
Limited after-hours slots available, call to check availability. Call your local office first. Outside office hours, you can still request service online and our team will follow up.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Killeen, the Fort Cavazos area, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Belton, Temple, Georgetown, Round Rock and nearby Central Texas towns from our three offices. See the full list on our service areas page.
Do you work on homes and businesses?
Yes. Ellis Air Systems repairs, installs and maintains heating and air conditioning systems for both residential and commercial customers across Central Texas.
Do you clean air ducts yourselves?
Yes. Our own team handles air duct cleaning, not a subcontractor, and we’re happy to talk through your options.
Financing & discounts
Do you offer financing on new systems?
Yes. We offer financing through Regions and Microf. See our financing page to apply, or call your local office with questions.
Do you offer a military or first-responder discount?
Yes. Military members and first responders get 5% off full system replacements plus 10% off repair parts (labor not included). Can’t be combined with Cool Club. Ask your local office when you call.
