Why Preventative Maintenance Matters in Central Texas
Waiting until a system fails in peak heat often means a bigger repair or a rushed replacement decision. Regular maintenance helps with:
- Efficiency and performance through long cooling seasons
- Cleaner equipment and better airflow
- Lower risk of avoidable breakdowns
- Catching worn parts before they make your system work harder
- Spotting repair-or-replace issues early
Who Cool Club HVAC Maintenance Is For
- Homeowners who want fewer summer surprises
- Landlords and commercial property managers with multiple systems
- Anyone weighing a maintenance plan against calling only when something breaks
How Often Should You Service Your HVAC System?
For Central Texas homes, we recommend checking or changing standard filters regularly during heavy use and scheduling a professional checkup in spring before cooling season and in fall before heating season. Cool Club HVAC maintenance covers that routine with 2 visits a year: fall (Sept–Nov) and spring (Feb–Apr).
Spring visit
February–April, before cooling season. 21-point checkup and cleaning.
Fall visit
September–November, before heating season. 21-point checkup and cleaning.
What a Cool Club HVAC Maintenance Visit Covers
Every Cool Club HVAC maintenance visit includes our 21-point checkup and cleaning of your heating and cooling system. In general terms, your technician works through three steps:
- Inspect. Look over the indoor and outdoor equipment, electrical connections, controls and thermostat, and the condensate drain for wear, damage or early warning signs.
- Clean. Clear away the dirt and debris that restrict airflow and make your system work harder than it should.
- Test. Run the system through a cycle to confirm it starts, runs and shuts off properly.
If your technician spots a worn part or a developing problem, they will let you know so you can decide what to do next. Cool Club members get 10% off parts (labor not included) on repairs.

Why Spring and Fall Timing Matters
Spring (Feb–Apr): Central Texas summers are long and hot, so your air conditioner carries its heaviest load from late spring into fall. A spring visit gets the cooling side checked and cleaned before that load starts, while there is still time to replace a weak part on your schedule instead of in a heat wave.
Fall (Sept–Nov): A fall visit does the same for heating before the first cold snap. A furnace or heat pump that sat idle all summer gets checked before you need it, and the system gets a cleaning after months of heavy cooling.
With Cool Club HVAC maintenance, both visits are part of every plan. Between visits, check your filter every month during heavy use, as ENERGY STAR recommends, and keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves and debris. If you notice warm air, unusual noises or water around the indoor unit, call your local office. Repairs are scheduled separately from Cool Club visits. Limited after-hours slots available, call to check availability.
